On Tuesday, April 19th, Carol Winfield of the Vermont Wildlife Rescue Association will be visiting the Montgomery Town Library with some of the animals she’s taking care of. This is Athena, who has been in captivity ever since she broke her wing. She wouldn’t survive in the wild as owls need to fly and hunt. Now Athena helps out with educational programs, as do other resident birds of prey who can’t be released into the wild because of disabilities. We don’t know yet which animals Carol will bring, but we are sure to be inspired and learn something new from Carol and these impressive wild creatures. 1 pm in the Public Safety Conference Room. For all ages, but with children in mind. FREE.
And on Thursday, April 21, please join Montgomery’s own Bettie Curboy for “Cooking Fun with Bettie –Dinner Party!” Bettie has that special touch for making nourishing and delicious food. Come cook with her — maybe that special touch will rub off on you! Everyone will make a three-course dinner, ending with dessert, of course, and then eat it together. For all ages, but with children in mind. 3:30 in the Public Safety Conference Room. FREE.
